After almost two years of preparation, the southern regional center of the Gabungan, JOMERC was finally formed in 2003 in Johor. JOMERC supports the mission, vision and activities of the Gabungan. In addition, JOMERC has also been actively promoting the Gabungan as a ICT professional body in the southern region by organizing ICT related activities and recruiting members from different sectors.

The number of JOMERC members has significantly grown from 16 in 2001 (when the idea was initiated) to 45 today and it is expected to have more than 70 members by the year 2005.
